For decades, America has been regarded as the place where ambitious capital goes to find scale, technology, and growth. But capital rarely stays where it has always been. When investors sense that established markets are becoming crowded, expensive, or excessively competitive, they start looking elsewhere.
Signs suggest European markets are attracting more attention. The European Central Bank reportedthat foreign investors bought euro-area equity and debt near historical highs in 2025, with net purchases exceeding €850 billion. At the same time, U.S. companies have become increasingly active in European capital markets, including the euro-denominated bond market.
Against this broader backdrop, something more specific is now happening in Slovenia.
A team of American representatives is spending time in the country. Among other activities, it met with the leadership of Themis Ecosystem (TE), a Slovenian-led framework that brings together industrial, environmental, and community-oriented projects. Their visit included several TE projects, including the Biomass Ultima factory, the FoodSphere 01 green vertical farming unit operated by John’s Organic Roots, and the Asclepius8 anti-stress unit.
What caught their attention was the model behind the technologies.
